Kent County Offices will be closed on Friday, April 3rd in honor of Good Friday. Essential and emergency services will still be available. Regular hours will resume on Monday, April 6th.
The Sheriff's Office of Kent County would like to bring attention to another scam targeting residents. The caller, posing as a Kent County Sheriff's officer, will advise them that they missed a court date and are demanding that they pay preemptive bail or be imprisoned immediately.
The State of Delaware court system has courts in all three counties. The Kent County Courthouse is located on a 5.3-acre site in the City of Dover, bordered by Federal and Water Streets and The Green. Occupants of the building include the Superior Court, Court of Common Pleas, Justice of the Peace Court 16, Register in Chancery, Kent County Prothonotary, Law Library, Jury, and Capitol Police. The Attorney General and Public Defender also have satellite offices in the Courthouse.
