DEMA Urges Preparedness Ahead of Weekend Storm

With a powerful coastal storm forecast to impact Delaware starting Sunday, the Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) is calling on residents to take proactive steps now to stay safe and informed.

Location Change – Kent County Children’s Halloween Fantasy Trail

Due to forecasted rain and storms this weekend, Kent County Parks & Recreation has relocated the Children’s Halloween Fantasy Trail indoors to the Kent County Recreation Center (1683 New Burton Road, Dover, DE).

The event will take place on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is designed for children ages 2 to 7. Admission is $5 per child (cash only).

Governor Signs Transfer on Death Deeds Into Law

Published on September 23, 2025

The Transfer on Death (TOD) deed allows real estate to be transferred to beneficiaries immediately upon the owner's death without probate. Property owners can revoke or change beneficiaries at any time. Beneficiaries have no legal interest in the property until the owner’s death. TOD deeds must have two witnesses and be notarized.

Kent County Taxes Due September 30, 2025 Extended Office Hours Offered

Kent County officials are reminding residents that county property taxes
are due by Tuesday, September 30, 2025. To accommodate taxpayers and ensure timely
payments, the Kent County Tax Office will remain open until 7:00 PM on Tuesday,
September 30th.
