FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kent County Row Officers and Department Heads selected Cathy Moore, from the Recorder of Deeds Office, as the October 2025 Employee of the Month.
Cathy currently serves as a Deed Clerk II, having joined the County in April 2019. She began her career as an Office Support Specialist II in the Engineering Office of the Department of Public Works, later transferring to the Recorder of Deeds office as a Deed Clerk I in July 2022. She was promoted to Deeds Clerk II two years later.
Cathy is the primary clerk who greets and assists customers at the customer service desk, providing courteous and efficient service. In addition, she records the majority of paper documents, reviewing them carefully to ensure they meet the criteria of the law and our formating requirements. Cathy recieves all incoming documents, cashiers them with accuracy, records them in a speedy fashion.
During the month of October, her workload increased significantly due to Transfer on Death Deeds now being legal in Delaware. Cathy approached this entirely new line of work with her usual efficiency and enthusiasm.
"Cathy's cheerful attitude, extensive knowledge of recording operations, and dedication to duty make her an invaluable member of our team and a wonderful representative of Kent County," said the Honorable Eugenia Thornton, Kent County Recorder of Deeds.
