The Sheriff's Office of Kent County would like to bring attention to another scam targeting residents. The caller, posing as a Kent County Sheriff's officer, will advise them that they missed a court date and are demanding that they pay preemptive bail or be imprisoned immediately.

The Hon. Eugenia Thornton appointed Darin Dell as the Deputy Recorder of Deeds, on September 2, 2025.
“As Deputy Recorder of Deeds, Darin will oversee the day-to-day functions of the office, ensuring the recording of property records is safe, fast, and more convenient for everyone,” said Hon. Eugenia Thornton, Kent County Recorder of Deeds. “He will bring a wealth of experience past and present to the role.”
Mr. Dell has experience of managing consultants from his time with the State of Delaware, where he worked in the Department of Transportation and the Department of Technology and Information.
