Gartner appointed as Kent County Deputy Recorder of Deeds

DOVER—The Kent County Levy Court appointed Joel Gartner as the Deputy Recorder of Deeds, who was sworn in on July 29. 

“As Deputy Recorder of Deeds, Joel will oversee the day-to-day functions of the office, ensuring the recording of property records is safe, fast, and more convenient for everyone,” said Hon. Eugenia Thornton, Kent County Recorder of Deeds. “He will bring a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the role.” 

Mr. Gartner has a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Air Force Academy, as well as two master’s degrees in strategic studies and logistics management from the Air War College and Air Force Institute of Technology, respectively.  

“I am honored to join the Recorder’s team and to serve Kent County in this new capacity,” said Mr. Gartner. “I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure that our property records are managed with the highest level of accuracy and efficiency. My goal is to enhance our services and make the recording process as smooth as possible for all our residents.” 

According to the county, Mr. Gartner arrives with a background in administrative management, with work as a records management advisor and experience in logistics management.
