Elected Officials Take Kent County Levy Court Oath of Office- Jan 2025
Kent County Levy Court proudly announces the swearing-in ceremony of reelected and newly elected Levy Court Commissioners and Row Officers. The ceremony took place on January 7, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Kent County Levy Court Administrative Complex, 555 Bay Rd., Dover, Delaware. The event was attended by community leaders, local officials, and residents who were eager to witness the official induction of the new and returning members of the Levy Court.
The Honorable D. Ken Cox, Magistrate Judge, Justice of the Peace Court, administered the Oath of Office to four re-elected officials and one newly elected official: Levy Court Commissioners Joanne Masten (1st District), Allan F. Angel (3rd District), George “Jody” Sweeney (5th District), Clerk of the Peace Brenda Wootten and her Deputy Clerk of the Peace Trish Brown, and newly elected Registrar of Wills Douglas “DJ” Cox and his Deputy Register of Wills Aleyshia Young, making the ceremony particularly special for Judge Cox.
At the organizational meeting presided over by Clerk of the Peace Brenda Wootten, the first order of business was to elect a President and Vice President, The Honorable Joanne Masten and The Honorable Robert J. Scott, respectively, followed by appointments of legal counsel.
