General Description
The Media Support Administrator oversees the organization’s media content and resources. This role encompasses the operation, procurement, and maintenance of the County’s audiovisual systems, along with advising management on audiovisual technology. Responsibilities include managing various media types, ensuring proper storage, retrieval, dissemination, and overseeing digital assets and media-related systems.
The position operates independently with limited supervision and reports to the Director of Information Technology within the Information Technology Division of the Administration Department.
Duties & Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions as necessary.
- Coordinates the distribution of media content across different channels (e.g., websites, social media, internal networks).
- Collaborates with the Public Information Officer, Website and Community Engagement Coordinator, Assistant County Administrator, and Information Technology team to support media initiatives.
- Collaborates with content creators, designers, and external vendors.
- Provides technical support for media-related software and hardware, including troubleshooting issues related to media playback, encoding, and streaming.
- Organizes and maintains media libraries, including digital and physical media, to ensure proper tagging, metadata entry, and categorization of media assets.
- Oversees the archiving and retrieval of media content.
- Operates and maintains the digital, audio, and computer systems in meeting rooms.
- Operates the Audio Control Center for all County support functions, including evening and weekend meetings and events.
- Recommends acquisition, maintenance, and inventory of video, audio, media supplies, and equipment.
- Coordinates and maintains County website information
- Interfaces with department managers and their staff, outside institutions and agencies, and the private sector involved in related projects

- Performs related work as required.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires bachelor’s degree in communications, information management, business administration, or related field, supplemented by four (4) years of progressively responsible experience with media editing and management software, digital asset management
systems, Content Management Systems (CMS), Network Attached Storage (NAS), Cloud storage services (e.g., AWS S3, Google Drive, Dropbox), media playback, and streaming tools.
Additional Requirements
Must have technical proficiency, including familiarity with media editing and management software, along with strong organizational and time management skills. Capable of managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail for managing metadata, tagging, and quality control. Effective communication skills for maintaining effective relationships and collaborating with various teams and stakeholders, including the public. Ability to provide clear instructions and technical support. Strong problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot technical issues, coupled with critical thinking and innovative solution-finding capabilities. Knowledgeable in copyright laws, media usage rights, and licensing agreements. Capable of monitoring program performance post-implementation. Proficient in coordinating design and planning projects and preparing detailed reports. Basic PC skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and file transfer.
Must pass testing for substance abuse and criminal background investigation. Must maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes harmonious relations with customers, co-workers, and supervisors. Direct deposit of pay is required.

This is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing in and walking between work areas may be required.
- Occasionally lifting of objects up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to read printed materials and a computer screen.
- Ability to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone.
- Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information.
