The Sheriff's Office of Kent County would like to bring attention to another scam targeting residents. The caller, posing as a Kent County Sheriff's officer, will advise them that they missed a court date and are demanding that they pay preemptive bail or be imprisoned immediately.

The function of the Sheriff's Office is to service the Citizens of Kent County by performing many functions for the State of Delaware Courts (Superior Court, Court of Common Pleas, U.S. District Court and the Court of Chancery). The Sheriff's Office serves legal notices to include (subpoenas, levies, summons, etc.). Additionally, the Sheriff's Office auctions real estate in accordance with the Delaware Code.
