Pay Range $41,600 - $41,600

General Description

The IT Intern will support the Kent County Levy Court Information Technology Department in delivering technical services across multiple functional areas, including helpdesk support, media services, network operations, cybersecurity, and programming. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience and exposure to a broad range of IT disciplines within a local government environment.

Duties Responsibilities

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions as necessary.

    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

    Current enrollment in or recent graduate of an accredited program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Basic technical knowledge or coursework in IT-related disciplines.

    Additional Requirements

    Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and operating systems. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and common business software. General knowledge of networking concepts and cybersecurity principles. Interest in programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Prior internship, coursework, or hands-on experience in IT support or related areas. Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems. Exposure to networking, cybersecurity tools, or programming projects.
